3 Dead in 3 crashes in 4 hours in Northwest Ohio | Clyde, Ohio Motorcycle Accident Laywers
Emergency crews and state highway patrol officers throughout Northwest Ohio were busy Tuesday evening and into the early hours of Wednesday, after three crashes in four hours killed three people. Among the dead were two motorcyclist and a female motorists. Two of the deadly accidents took place in Toledo while the third happened in Clyde, Ohio.
The first accident was off of State Rt. 101 in Green Creek Township south of Clyde after a motorcyclist was struck by a car that drifted left of center. A 16-year-old female was driving northbound and drifted left of center, and struck a motorcycle driven by Nicholas Darr, of Clyde.
Mr. Darr ejected upon impact, the OHP Fremont Post deputies said. The teen was not injured and was wearing a seat belt. Charges are pending against the teen driver.
The second accident was off of Fearing Boulevard and Airline Avenue after a motorcyclist was struck by a car after the car driver turned into its path. Killed in the accident was Harold Fowler of South Toledo. He was pronounced dead less than an hour after being transported to Toledo Hospital.
According to the incident report, Toledo police said Mr. Fowler was traveling northbound on Fearing and was approaching Airline Avenue when a southbound car, driven by Montrice Boyd, turned into the motorcycle’s path. Police said Boyd fled the accident scene on foot, but was located at his home. The accident remains under investigation. Charges against Boyd are pending toxicology tests.
The third accident happened shortly before midnight on northbound I-75 near the I-475 split in Perrysburg Township. Jacqueline Jankowski of Toledo was killed in this accident.
State patrol deputies said that Jacqueline Jankowski’s Pontiac Aztek experience mechanical issues and stopped in the far right lane. Her passenger, Kenneth Goodwin, of Toledo, got out of the Aztek ad tried to push the Pontiac into the highway shoulder.
According to the Toledo Post report, a semi, driven by Kevin Kram, of Bay City, Mich., was unable to stop in time and struck the Aztek. The SUV was pushed off the freeway, struck a ditch and rolled onto its side, killing Ms. Jankowski. Goodwin and Kram were not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
