A white 2012 Polaris RZR ATV driven by Jeremy Venables rear-ended a black horse-drawn buggy driven by Joseph Hershberger of Navarre.

After hitting the buggy, the ATV flipped over. Venables and Hershberger were ejected. Hershberger was then dragged several feet by his horses.

Venables was transported to Affinity Medical Center with serious injuries. Although Hershberger suffered injuries, he was not transported for medical treatment.

Venables was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet at the time of the crash, investigators said.
