Man killed in Vermillion motorcycle accident

On Wednesday morning around 10:21 a.m. a motorcycle accident left one Ohio man dead.

According to troopers, Paul Hering, 61, was driving south on Route 60 when he slowed down to turn into a private driveway. As he slowed down the PT Cruiser traveling behind him did not stop in time and slammed into the back of the motorcycle.

Hering was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other driver, 21-year-old Rebecca Schrover, was not injured during the crash.

Fatal West Toledo motorcycle crash

Danny Rader, 47, was pronounced dead at the Toledo Hospital this morning about 4 a.m.

According to the report taken by Toledo Police, Mr. Rader was traveling north along Crabb Rd. just before the Telegraph intersection. He failed to navigate the sharp right turn and lost control of his motorcycle, struck a curb and was ejected from the motorcycle . The accident was reported just before midnight.

Teenager arrested for fatal motorcycle crash

A teenager was arrested with charges stemming from a fatal motorcycle accident that took place earlier this month.

The authorities have reported that on May 2 Donald Herbst was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when a pickup being driven by a 17-year-old pulled out in front of him.

Herbst was taken from the scene of the accident to an area hospital where he died later that evening.

The teen was charged as a juvenile for vehicular homicide, failure to yield and driving under a suspended license. His parents were charged with wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle.

An accident on the Ohio Turnpike on Sunday morning left a motorcyclist dead.

The accident happened just after 5:30 a.m. in Olmsted Falls in the turnpike’s eastbound lane. According to the report, James Knutti, 34, was riding his motorcycle when he was thrown from his bike as he attempted to avoid a collision with a deer. He was then run over by an SUV that was traveling behind him.

No charges have been filed yet and the accident remains under investigation.

Man Loses Control Of Motorcycle And Crashes

23-year-old Jesse P. Wright was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control of the bike as he approached a curve in the road.

The motorcycle swerved across both eastbound lanes of traffic before crashing into a utility pole and then a block wall.

Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Multi-vehicle accident kills motorcyclist

On Sunday Pamela Bell, 53, was riding her motorcycle along U.S. 35 around 2:20 p.m. when an SUV driven by 40-year-old Sheila Ray crossed the center line and struck the motorcycle head on. After hitting the motorcycle Ray then struck a tractor-trailer being driven by David Shur .

Pam Bell was pronounced dead at the scene and Ray was taken to am area hospital where she remains in critical condition.

2 motorcyclists involved in crash

Three motorcyclists were traveling together headed south on Ohio 751 when two of the motorcycles passed a southbound truck. The motorcycle being operated by 22-year-old Mason Mutschelknaus went left of center and struck a northbound pickup truck. The second motorcyclist, 23-year-old Jorden Shaw, laid his motorcycle down on its side in an effort to avoid the first collision. His motorcycle did strike the pickup as well. Both Mutschelknaus and Jorden Shaw were transported to an area hospital.

Mutschelknaus was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital while Jorden was treated and released. The other motorcyclist, 20-year-old Leroy Shaw, was without incident and returned to the scene of the crash.

Woman crashes motorcycle on Market Street

A Sandusky woman was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center after she wrecked her motorcycle on the front lawn of a Market Street home.

Jennifer Bruce, who was talking to paramedics as they loaded into the ambulance, was in ok condition after the accident. According to onlookers, she was revving the motorcycle for several minutes before she dropped the clutch and shot across W. Market Street.

Pickup truck hits and kills motorcyclist

Last Wednesday night a motorcycle crash on Ohio 177 left a young man dead.

Donald Herbst, 25, was traveling south on Ohio 177 in his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a 1997 Ford pickup driven by 17-year-old Andrew Hensley turned onto Ohio 177 and struck Herbst and his motorcycle.

Donald was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was flown from the scene to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Motorcycle crash in Henry County seriously injures rider

Around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday 19-year-old Ross Heringhaus was driving his car north on State Route 65 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the U.S. 6 intersection in Henry County. As he entered the intersection he hit a motorcycle being driven by 57-year-old Tim McGaffey of Toledo.

Mr. McGaffey was taken by lifeflight from the scene of the accident to Mercy St. Vincent Hospital where is listed in serious condition. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The crash is still under investigation.
