Mario Careaga, 43, an executive at an insurance brokerage is free on a $10,ooo bond while he awaits trial for the September 2010 death of Nancy Lopez-Ruiz, a Miami Heat dancer.

Prosecutors state that Careaga was driving drunk when he drove his 2009 Mercedes-Benz into Nancy’s 2003 Suzuki sport motorcycle. Lopez-Ruiz died at the scene of the accident.

Careaga was recently in court again requesting permission to travel to Mexico City, but the Judge turned down his request. His next court date is scheduled for March.
